DENVER INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT"S TRAFFIC RECORDS SET TO GO IN 2017

The mile high city is set to reach an all-time traffic high in 2017 with over 60 million passengers set to have passed through the gateway by year end.

The prediction is based on the fact that in the first nine months of the year passenger numbers at the Colorado gateway are 6.2% up on the corresponding period a year ago.

In 2016, a total of 58.3 million passengers passed throughDenver International Airport (DEN) to cement its status as the sixth busiest gateway in the United States.

Although passenger numbers were down by 0.3% in September to 5,097,144 million, the gateway claims that it was "a standout month" for international traffic, with an increase in throughput of nearly 10% compared to September 2016.

For the year-to-date period, DEN’s international passenger traffic growth is up by more than 11%, nearly double the pace of the airport’s overall passenger traffic growth.

"Denver International Airportcontinues toexperience robust international passenger traffic growth,fuelled by strong demand and carrier capacity increases,” says airport CEO, Kim Day.

“These numbers were bolstered in partin September by the inauguration of our new flight on Norwegian to London’s Gatwick Airport.”

Mail, freight and express cargo operations increased 7%t in September, with 50,713,297 pounds, compared to 47,405,681 pounds of cargo in September 2016.
